The college students of CARD-MRI Development Institute, Inc. (CMDI) came in their best formal attires during their acquaintance party on August 4, 2017 at the auditorium of the said institute.<\/p>\n

Aside from the usual party, three events were also held and these are: 1) \u201cThe Voice\u201d singing contest; 2) Search for Mr. & Ms. Star of the Night; and 3) Mr. & Ms. Acquaintance 2017, a beauty and brains tilt.<\/p>\n

Ms. Glenda Lagarile, Deputy Director for Tertiary Education and Partnership Education Department (TEPED), opened the program and warmly welcomed the students, faculty members, staff, and guests. \u201cWe are coming from different walks of life that\u2019s why this is a good opportunity to get acquainted with one another and to have more networks,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Ms. Deverna Briones, Vice President for Administration and Academic Affairs, advised students to be mindful and accept one another despite individual differences. Moreover, faculty members and staff were introduced along with the induction of class officers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Voice\u201d singing contest was held first and Jestoni Bienvenida showcased his vocal prowess and was declared the champion. Darwin Calcaben and Johnry Duller placed first and second runners-up, respectively.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, faculty members and staff selected and escorted on stage their choices for the Star of the Night titles. John Daven Puntanar and Jaicel Gecolea bested out the other hopefuls and were declared as Mr. & Ms. Star of the Night, respectively.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, seven pairs of glamorous students represented their blocks, gracefully ramped on the stage, and confidently introduced themselves in the Mr. & Ms. Acquaintance 2017 pageant. The contenders exhibited not only their physical appearance, but also their wit in answering the questions from the judges. Jun Rey Presores and Regine Macato clearly stood out and bagged the Mr. & Ms. Acquaintance 2017 titles, respectively. Darwin Jay Estabillo and Khristine Joi Bautista were first runners-up while Haneza Sadsad and Iaxe Daryl Martinez were second runners-up.<\/p>\n

The party continued with dancing until before midnight and it was very much evident that the students truly enjoyed this fabulous affair.<\/p>\n
