CMDI conducts “Cyberwellness” seminar

The Guidance Office of the CARD-MRI Development Institute, Inc. (CMDI) initiated the “Think Before you Click: A Seminar on Cyberwellness” on 20 August 2018 at the CMDI Multifunction Hall.

Grade 11 students attended the said seminar which aims to enlighten the students on the boons and banes of the internet and how to be responsible “netizens” especially in the prevalence of internet and social media.

CMDI Guidance Counselor, Dr. Jenny Lyn D. Casano, discussed the topic “Cyberbullying” and reminded the students that it is already considered a crime and has corresponding sanctions not just in CMDI but also in our country’s laws.

Training Officer and current President of the Information System Students Society Alvin Alon discussed “Cyberwellness”, which is defined as the positive well-being of internet users as well as the understanding of online behavior, awareness, and protecting one’s self in cyberspace. He emphasized that students should be respectful and responsible in the digital world.

The said seminar will be part of the regular activities of the Guidance Office for the overall welfare of the students.
