CMDI hosts June’s “Kapihan with Boss”
The CARD-MRI Development Institute, Inc. (CMDI) hosted the monthly “Kapihan with Boss” on Friday, 10 June 2016 at CARD MRI’s head office in San Pablo City. The event is in line with CMDI’s Senior High School opening with the theme, “Senior High School, College, and Scholarship Day”.
The Dean and Institute Director, Edzel Ramos, welcomed the staff and selected students, members of the Executive Committee, and CARD founder and Managing Director, Dr. Jaime Aristotle Alip. He recalled that CMDI started out as the training arm of CARD MRI and through years of hard work and dedication, it is now also an educational institution offering a college program on entrepreneurship with focus on microfinance. He was also glad to announce that CMDI will offer Senior High School with Accounting, Business, and Management (ABM) track this school year. He also introduced the new faculty members of CMDI.
The night moved on with a trivia game about the Senior High School Program where winners were given products from Mga Likha ni Inay as prizes. Meanwhile, two talented students, Reymond Quilantang and Rezia Mae Hade, serenaded everyone with their powerful voices. Equally talented were the members of the CARD MRI Performing Arts Group, who entertained the audience with their rendition of a few of the latest pop songs. Lastly, an audio-visual presentation featuring the high school and college photos of selected ExeCom members was shown, much to the delight of everyone.
Dr. Alip, in his closing message, commended CMDI for its new milestone in providing Senior High School, and strengthening its college program for the coming school year. He also thanked everyone for joining CARD MRI’s monthly activity which is the Kapihan. Lastly, he also joined the faculty members for a photo opportunity.
It was a very busy Friday for the CMDI staff but it only showed the strong family spirit. Everyone worked together to make the Kapihan a successful one.
As the host of “Kapihan with Boss”, CMDI staff were busy in assisting and guiding the CARD-MRI staff during the registration.
CMDI Dean and Institute Director, Edzel Ramos together with Dr. Dolores Torres, Vice President for Corporate Affairs, and Ms. Cynthia Baldeo, Vice President of CARD SME Bank, enjoyed the mini photo corner designed and prepared by the CMDI Staff. Seeing emoticons that they were holding really showed what they felt that day in the event.

As part of the launching of Senior Highschool in CMDI, the new faculty members were acknowledged in the program. They were introduced by the Dean and Institute Director, Edzel Ramos.
All the members of CMDI Family were thankful for another blessing received as the Senior High School Program will be offered this school year. Here, CMDI staff, Richelle Lapugot, led the opening prayer.
The Dean and Institute Director, Edzel Ramos, gave the opening remarks. He shared how CARD-MRI started from just a small group into a big institution now and how the Senior High School Program in CMDI was made possible. He added that the microfinance curriculum pioneered by CMDI will be used by the Department of Education as the basis or guideline of all microfinance curriculum for Senior High Schools across the country.
Everyone in the event acknowledged the presence of CARD-MRI Founder, Dr. Jaime Aristotle Alip.
CARD-MRI Staff actively participated in the trivia games that were prepared by the CMDI Team.
Everyone was amazed by the singing voice of one of the students of CMDI, Reymond Quilantang, as he sang “One Moment in Time” in a special number during the event. Even Dr. Alip was impressed by his performance.
Rezia Mae Hade, another collegestudent in CMDI, showcased her singing talent to everyone in the event as she was also invited to perform a special number.
The CARD MRI Performing Arts Group sang the latest popular songs. Their talent potentials were really evident during their special number.
Dr. Jaime Aristotle Alip gave his inspiring closing remark and commended CMDI for a job well done.
Through the help of each other, CMDI staff were successful in hosting the event.
The faculty as new members of the CMDI Family together with CARD-MRI Founder, Dr. Jaime Aristotle Alip, are looking forward to the success of the Senior High School Program.
