Microfinance clients undergo enterprise development training
Sixty-two microfinance clients of CARD, Inc. in Agusan del Norte, Ilocos Sur and Dumaguete City were trained on the basic concepts of entrepreneurship and business planning during the Enterprise Development Training conducted by CARD MRI-Development Institute (CMDI) on March 21-26, 2019.
“The said training is part of CMDI’s social responsibility to the microfinance clients of CARD MRI,” said Dr. Edzel Ramos, CMDI Executive Vice President.
CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI) is a group of 21 development-oriented institutions that aims to eradicate poverty in the country by providing financial and social development programs on health and education, among others.
According to Dr. Ramos, through this training clients are given the chance to better understand and explore how they can make appropriate decisions about personal and business finances such as investing and budgeting for their business, human resource management expansions, and others.
“This is to also help them in addressing properly the issues they may encounter especially on marketing of their business considering the digital era we are now,” he added.
CMDI is a learning institution that provides training and educational services to clients and staff of CARD MRI. Likewise, CARD, Inc. is the social development institution of CARD MRI that provides financial and community development services to more than 1.9 million clients.
