CMDI’s acquaintance party goes Bohemian!
A night filled with fun, laughter, music and variety! This was how they described the recently concluded back-to-back acquaintance party of senior high school and college students of CMDI Tagum held on July 25 & 26, respectively.

This year’s awaited student gathering was wrapped in a theme of Bohemianism – a practice of unconventional lifestyle usually involves musical, artistic, literary or spiritual pursuits.
Dream catchers, a common trademark of “boho” style, were hanged on the school’s pathway stretching up to the gymnasium, establishing the ambience of the activity’s motif.
Meanwhile, students and faculties flaunt their “boho”-chic attire as they stride on stage during the grand entrance. It also became an opportune time for them to pose for a photo and be chosen as the ‘Best Bohemian Attire’ and ‘Star of the Night’, which were judged by selected faculty and CMDI staff.

In her welcome address, the School Administrator, Ms. Niña Peralta-Perez, expressed her delight seeing the big crowd of students. She recalled to them how CMDI’s first acquaintance party in July 2016 was celebrated with only 63 students.
“Seeing you all [students] with your Bohemian attire with this very big crowd already is a fulfilling and satisfying feeling. Indeed, I am so honoured and privileged to welcome you all to the induction ceremony and acquaintance party with the theme, “Fostering family spirit and making difference together,” the School Administrator said.
Since the activity was also the induction ceremony of the newly elected Student Leadership Council, Ms. Perez gave these young leaders an inciting advice.
“To our new officers, leadership is about service. Service, that is altruistic, devoted, and humble. You are appointed by your club/organizations not to be served. Such service should not wait for something in exchange. As student leaders, serve your fellow learners dedicatedly, and implement something in your action plan. I would like to challenge you to make a difference in your respective organization. Start valuable projects and programs, walk your conversation, and serve with enthusiasm, dedication and sense of accountability.” Ms. Perez said.
The occasion also became a venue for recognizing students who were seen to be exemplifying the core values of CARD MRI: Competence, Family Spirit, Integrity, Simplicity, Humility, Excellence, and Stewardship. The selection process started with a nomination until the deliberation among teachers to identify who among the nominees has best emulated the values of the institution.
All students, without apprehension, showcased the presentation number they have prepared. This made the night filled with a variety of talents and performances, which undoubtedly gave joyful experience to everyone present in the event.
There was a deafening cheer when a surprise number from the members of the faculty was finally revealed. Everybody became ecstatic as they witnessed their beloved teachers groove to the beat of ‘S&M’.
The activity ended with a dance party where students and teachers shared the dance floor stomping their feet and breaking sweat on a party music!
