CARD MRI grants scholarship to Senior High School, College students of CMDI
A total of 548 aspiring entrepreneurs of senior high school and college students of CARD MRI-Development Institute (CMDI) Bay campus received full scholarships from CARD MRI for this school year.
CMDI has increased the number of its scholars to achieve its goal of “One Family, One Graduate” a program that aims to provide scholarships and various CARD MRI education assistance to ensure that for every family, there will be one college graduate.
This program is part of CMDI’s mission to contribute to the goal of CARD MRI to end poverty in the country by creating competent practitioners through quality education.
According to Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip, CARD MRI Founder and Chairman Emeritus, “Education is the greatest equalizer and the best weapon to end poverty. For every child who has an opportunity to finish college education is also an opportunity to help his/her own family to improve their quality of living.”
He also emphasized that education is not just a privilege but also a responsibility.
The scholarship awards ceremony was attended by CARD MRI Managing Director and CMDI President, Flordeliza L. Sarmiento.
“Education and discipline will lead to success. Knowledge and skills are useless if the attitude is below the standard,” Sarmiento emphasized.
Scholars also thanked CMDI management for giving them the full support academically and financially for their education. “I am really blessed despite my age of 52, CMDI gave me and to my son the opportunity to finish our studies,” said Bernardo Ombina, Sr., BS Entrepreneurship student.
To date, CMDI already granted scholarship to more than 3,100 deserving students. Apart from scholarships, CARD MRI offers various education programs such as Balik Eskwela, Zero Dropout, and student assistance to further ensure that students will finish their basic to tertiary education.
