CMDI conducts Open House 2017

The CARD-MRI Development Institute (CMDI), in partnership with CARD Bank Inc., conducted its first Open House for parents and their children on April 8, 2017 at CMDI Auditorium, Brgy. Tranca, Bay, Laguna.

The Open House aims to enlighten the public regarding the mission, vision, and history of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI), introduce CMDI as an academic institution that provides quality education for the youth, provide additional social, economical, and financial trainings that would be beneficial to families, and deepen participants’ understanding regarding the Senior High School (SHS) Program and other courses offered by the institution.

Ms. Glenda Lagarile, Deputy Director for Degree Educational Partnership (DEP), discussed how CARD MRI started and its programs to eradicate poverty in the country. She also explained how CARD MRI achieved its current status by discussing the objectives; growth and development from 1 to 14 institutions; core values; and its organizational structure.

Selected students of CMDI gave their testimonies during the program. “I’m really grateful to CMDI for giving me the opportunity to study specially to mothers like me. This is a great privilege because this opportunity enables me to grow and become mature in the field I’m taking,” said Ms. Jonalyn Gutierrez, college student, a mother of two.

Mr. Noel Briones, college student, scholar, and consistent Dean’s Lister, shared a poem where he associated CMDI to a steering wheel. “CMDI instills in us to have a rational mind with a heart,” he emphasized.

“CMDI serves as a training ground to prepare us to the path of our dreams,” according to Ms. Rein Romari Malabana, SHS honor student. “Our effective and enthusiastic teachers continuously nurture the knowledge we have in different subjects. We enjoy studying in CMDI because of its conducive learning environment. CMDI allows us to showcase our talents and skills, boosts our confidence, and provides opportunities like joining in regional competitions,” she added.

CARD Bank, Inc., through Marketing Manager Guada May Brion, took the chance to share the importance of “Savings Literacy” as part of its “Savings Mobilization Campaign”.

“Savings is important and I am encouraging everyone here now to save money for the future,” said Manager Brion while reminding the parents that education is both an investment and capital.

Mr. Luisito Lapitan Jr., faculty member, further explained the “3E” educational program offered by CMDI. The 3E stands for Enrolment, Exposure, and Employment.

CMDI offers scholarships, discounts, incentives, and student assistantship program. Interested students may apply until May 27, 2017. The second part of the Open House will be held on May 27, 2017.
