Last March 26 – 28, 2014, selected CMDI, Support Unit, and CARD MBA staff underwent the Test Writing Workshop led by Dr. Maria Ana T. Quimbo, professor from the College of Public Affairs (CPAf) of the University of the Philippines- Los Banos (UPLB).

The training workshop’s aim was to give the participants an introductory training on how to plan, craft, and evaluate effective tests. The main output of the participants is to evaluate and improve the existing CMDI training design objectives and pre and post tests.

During the two-and-a-half-day workshop, the participants were able to construct SMART instructional objectives, choose appropriate test types and number of item distribution, and finally, evaluate whether a specific test question is effective in evaluating a learner’s knowledge gain through test item analysis.

Writeshops were designed in the training program to give the participants an actual experience on how to prepare test questions based on existing CMDI training programs and integrating the knowledge gained from the discussion.

The workshop ended with an awarding of certificates to all the participants and the giving of the token to Dr. Quimbo.
