CMDI Head Librarian receives prestigious award from PRC

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), a national government agency authorized to implement laws regulating various professions, granted the “2017 Most Outstanding Professional of the Year Award in the field of Librarianship” to Ms. Mila Ramos, Head Librarian of the CARD-MRI Development Institute, Inc. (CMDI) on June 23, 2017 at the Manila Hotel.

The Professional Regulation Week and PRC’s 44th founding anniversary was celebrated along with the awarding ceremony where qualified professionals or nominees from various fields and regional organizations are recognized and awarded for their significant contributions and achievements.

“I am really happy and proud to receive a once in a lifetime recognition,” expressed Ms. Ramos, a Librarian since 1965 from different organizations including the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) before finally joining CMDI.

CMDI presented a Certificate of Appreciation and tokens to the head librarian for her latest achievement. “I believe one of the qualifications to acquire this award is that you must have done something to advance the profession,” she stated. “As long as CMDI is alive and growing, we should also give attention to our library to support the research and curricular needs of our students,” Ms. Ramos concluded.

Truly, CMDI is a home for competent professionals, practitioners, and experts in relevant fields, and it aims to empower people through quality education and other services it provides and contribute to poverty eradication by producing at least one graduate from each family it serves.
