Lakbay-Aral for Stockholders in Davao
CARD Bank stockholders were given a chance to visit Davao City during October 21 until 23, 2013 for their Lakbay Aral (Learning Journey). A total of 24 stockholders joined this trip wherein they were able to get to know more about the different historical sites in Davao, historical sites, and the CARD Bank in Davao City.
Led by Senior Training Office, Leslie Jane R. Banayo, the group visited different places around Davao. They were able to appreciate the natural beauty of the Japanese tunnel and the Lon Wan Buddhist temple. They also spent some time in the Crocodile Park, D Bone Collections, and Jack’s Ridge. A visit to the Philippine eagle was also on their itinerary as they went to the Eagle Sanctuary. To unwind, they visited the People’s Park. Finally, the group was given a chance to go to the Durian market and China Town.
The group were able to learn some facts about Davao. The city is dubbed to have “3 Kings and a Queen”. This is because Davao is known for the Philippine eagle, the Durian, and Mt. Apo. These three icons are known to be the three Kings. The queen, moreover, is the waling-waling (orchid), which is now considered to be another national flower of the Philippines, alongside the sampaguita.
To keep in touch with the Institution, the group was able to conduct a site visit in CARD Bank in Davao. Also, while traveling, they were able to locate the different CARD Inc, and CARD Bank branches. CARD members with businesses were also visited, and with this visit, the participants were able to converse with the members, thus helping them to get to know these members.
This trip has been enriching for the entire group. As they head home, they bring with them the different memories and newly formed friendships. Also, after witnessing the different scenic spots in Davao, they have grown appreciation for it. The stockholders were indeed thankful to CARD MRI for this opportunity.
