CMDI pays tribute to teachers
“Through teaching, I have the chance to touch other people’s lives especially the youth,” expressed Ms. Honeylie Fideli, Science Instructor, during the celebration of the National and World Teacher’s Day held on October 5, 2017 at the auditorium and function hall of the CARD-MRI Development Institute, Inc. (CMDI).
This year’s theme is “My Teacher, My Hero”, aimed to acknowledge the essential roles and contributions of educators in strengthening communities.
The annual celebration is in accordance with the Presidential Proclamation No. 242, which declares the period from September 5 to October 5 of every year as the National Teachers’ Month and the Republic Act 10743, which declares the 5th day of October of every year as the National Teachers’ Day and World Teachers’ Day by the United Nations Education and Cultural Organizations (UNESCO).
The students performed and showcased their talents as a tribute to their teachers’ hard work and priceless efforts in nurturing and preparing them for a brighter future.
Later in the evening, the faculty members and staff attended a brief talk about finding happiness in the workplace, which intended to enlighten perception about the meaning of life as well as their roles in nation building. “Happiness is not about the perfect situation, it is all about the positive perception,” advised Fr. Mark “Toto” Cerada.
“This occasion is very significant and will always motivate me to continue my profession as a teacher,” concluded Mr. Luisito C. Lapitan, Filipino Instructor.
