New batch of students awarded CMDI Scholarship

The CARD-MRI Development Institute, Inc. (CMDI) awarded scholarships to 16 deserving college students on December 14, 2017 at its main campus in Brgy. Tranca, Bay, Laguna.

The program, “One family, one graduate”, accommodates one scholar per household and is part of CMDI’s mission to contribute to poverty eradication; create competent graduates; produce agents of positive social change; and provide education opportunities. “This is one of the ways we can do to uplift the lives of families in need and we are very happy to support students academically and financially,” said Ms. Deverna Briones, Vice President for Administration and Academic Affairs.

According to Ms. Dolores Torres, Dean of the Department of Business Management, CMDI will continue its mission to provide quality education as a requisite to better employment, business, or entrepreneurship opportunities.

The academic requirements as well as the terms and conditions were presented to students. “Scholars must be able to maintain the required grade, pass all subjects, complete the requirements, and graduate on time,” highlighted Ms. Rona Angulo, Program Officer.

“Thank you very much for giving us this rare chance. I will do my best to comply and graduate on time,” expressed Asther Valencia, one of the scholars.

The parents also expressed their sincerest gratitude to CMDI for the educational assistance given to their children as an early Christmas gift. “We need to help one another to guide our students,” concluded Ms. Briones.
