CMDI and EMPC conducts “Ngiting Tagumpay”

The School Wellness Advisory Committee (SWAC) of the CARD-MRI Development Institute, Inc. (CMDI) recently collaborated with the CARD Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (EMPC) and conducted the very first “Ngiting Tagumpay”, a dental health mission, on December 15, 2017 at the CMDI School Building.

Senior High School (SHS) and college students benefited from this one-day program where dental check-up, cleaning, filling, and tooth extraction were offered. “We work hand in hand to provide dental health assistance since this is also part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR),” said Ms. Aurea Magpantay, EMPC General Manager.

From 8:00am to 5:00pm, a total of 125 students underwent dental check-up and more than 30 had their tooth extracted. “We are doing this to make our students smile confidently. This will help boost their self-esteem,” expressed Ms. Rona Angulo, SWAC Vice Chairperson.

Students were thankful for the dental services provided to them. “I will follow the dentist’s advice to take care of my teeth,” Cathrena Valencia, college student. “I am very happy to receive this kind of care,” added Joshua Ellera, SHS student.

CMDI and EMPC plan to continue the program next year to accommodate more students in need of dental services.
